Leadership Philosophy Leadership is a privilege. A responsibility to inspire others, and direct them to help attain their visions and goals as well. In my leadership philosophy, I believe that every individual is capable in becoming a leader and have the ability to lead. Every leader is constantly evolving and being better than the previous version of yourself. They key principles of leadership for me include: Collaboration, Passion, and mentorship. I think one vital part of being a leader is to consistently improve upon and challenge myself to become better. Even with vast leadership experience, I am still learning more every day on what it means to be an effective leader, but I think that these core values have given me a strong foundation to build upon. Overtime, my leadership philosophy has developed from gathering individualistic skills and knowledge to leading smaller groups to now where I support my surrounding communities. As a high schooler, I had a superficial concept of leadership and consistently strived to be that person. That you had to check the boxes of being a good public speaker, and a person willing to take the blame. Going through the leadership experience that I had in college, it has definitely involved my leadership style. My idea of teamwork and collaboration has changes drastically. Not being afraid to speak up and advocate for others so they have a voice in the discussion. The concept of leadership where you are constantly trying to innovate while not being out of touch with the people you lead. To understand that it is ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them and adapt. Lastly, I have learned that working harder is not always means that you are working smarter. Being mailable, communitive, and flexible are values that are essential to being a leader. In conclusion, leadership is not just something that you are able to put on a resume, but the ability to make an impact in an organization and build connections and skills that last a lifetime. |
